A New Chapter In Life

Looking Ahead For A Better Future
February 23

It's that time of the year

Yeah!!! It's that time of the year again.... Everyone happily collecting their 'ang baos'?

It's not just the ang baos, it's the time of the year where you meet up with relatives you have not seen in the past year. The time of reunion meals n endless questions by 'kaypoh' aunties...lolx

However, this year's celebration is a time I remember my maternal grandparents whom have since passed away. The years of celebration when they were still around. Looking back, I'm glad the days were well spend and not regretted. I tot this year, I would be going thru CNY as a single lady, but it turn out otherwise. Went visiting with my hubby to his relatives place. A shocking entrance I must say tat I was lost for words, all I did was smile and greet...lolx Can't really remember who is who, too many to remember, I'll try slowly. Other than that, his relatives are friendly people.

I was reading this story in a magazine, and felt that wat the writer wrote was very true. It was about failed relationships and why women just can't let go. Here goes...

"When women break up, it is usually over emotional issues such as autonomy, openness, equity or closeness. Whereas for men, the reason is usually physical - for example, the magic has disappeared or a lack of sex. That's why most women feel hurt rather than angry or hateful when they break up. Also, women invest more emotions in a relationship than men, and that isn't something you can turn off easily. It takes a lot of time and energy to let it go."

Doesn't it sound familiar?

I'll end my entry on a light note.
"Loving and being loved is a privilege, not a right. But it is very hard to control your emotions, especially with things that are important to you"

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing everybody out there a Happy Valentine's Day. To all couples, wish that your will stay "en en ai ai", and to all singles, wish your will find a partner this new year.

Frankly, it's funny that it's a buzz on valentine's day. To me, I prefer not to celebrate valentine's day on the actual day. In fact, everyday is valentine's day with my hubby...hehe (right hubby?) Don't you think it's a bit ridiculous that you have to spend a bomb on valentine's day? I mean, yahz, some will say, no need spend alot the lah, but than, who wouldn't want to impress their partner? But than, spending so much but not getting the feel n the atmosphere, dun you think it's kinda a waste? Look at it this way... If you buy flowers, you'd have to spend like $10 or more extra on a bouquet of flowers. If you buy chocolates (apart from ferrero), you'd have to pay more because of the special designs. If you buy cakes, it'll also be more expensive than usual. Eating is also a problem. First, if you haven't made a reservation, be prepared to quene. Even if you have made a reservation, serving of food would either be slow or not up to standard due to the high volume. Furthermore, with the amount of couples squeezed into a restaurant, the amount of noise generated is so high. Imagine paying like $40 per person for such an environment, wat's romantic or where's the ambience? It just boils down to when and how you'd want to celebrate. Isn't it better celebrating in advance without the hussle and bussle? I agree on this point.

I've celebrated my valentine's day cum 1st month anniversary during the weekend. We had a weekend getaway at Sentosa. We had lots of fun, going to Underwater, eating at Delifrance n Sakae Sushi, strolling by the beach n toking about everything under the stars. Hubby gave me a bottle of champage, but it's not just any bottle, it had a special message on it. I made a photo potrait for him. I had a great time hubby, thank you. We may sometimes have different opinions, but I believe we will still work out. We may only be together for a month plus, but it feels like a long time. I love you hubby, that's all that matters.

070107 - Thank you being in my life

It's been awhile since I last wrote an entry; It's time I updated wat's going on in my life.

Let's start with work. I have a few projects on hand planned out for the first half of the year. Completed one which started in the first 3 weeks of the year. Still trying to better manage my time with my 1 pair of hands...:) Luckily, I've a bunch of great colleagues. We try to help each other amist our piling in-tray. I'm almost reaching my 1 year of service. Been really happy working here.

Let's move on to a lighter note. Life has been great in this new year. My family is all well and healthy. My brother is doing well in school and excelling in his interest of archery. My mum got promoted to Supervisor and my dad is looking into doing some small business. I'm happily attached to a loving and caring boyfriend. No need to ponder who he is, he sits beside me in school, those who know us will know who he is, those who don't, his name is Gibson. I'll put up a photo of us another time.

Don't ask me how it all started, both of us are not sure either, it just happen. It's kinda ironic. We knew each other for a number of years and were close friends during school days, but we kinda lost contact after we went out for our attachments. It was not until last year when our "gang" decided to have a gathering again. But unfortunately, I din turn up for the 1st gathering, cause I had just fallen out of a broken relationship. We still met after that, for other sessions of gathering and outing, somehow along the way, something just spark I suppose.

I dedicate this song to you, my dear, thank you for being in my life.

That's What I Like About You - Trisha Yearwood
I like a man who's crazy about me
I like a man who can live without me, too
That's what I like about you

I like a man who will lay down beside me
I like a man who will stand up to me, too
That's what I like about you

I don't want a man to be my twin
Under my thumb, under my skin
Don't want a man like a shadow on the ground
With nothin' else to do but follow me around

I like a man who will cry on my shoulder
Who don't mind if I cry sometimes, too
That's what I like about you

I like a man who can make it happen
Who can get me laughin'
When my whole world breaks in two
That's what I like about you

You can be soft, honey, you can be strong
Maybe that's the reason we get along
Ev'rything you do, you do just right
You're tender in love, tough in a fight

I like a man who will lay down beside me
Stand up to me, cry on my shoulder
Crazy about me, can live without me, too
That's what I like about
Can't live my life without
That's what I like about you

Busy Weeks

I'll be too busy to make regular updates for the next week or so. Work has been extremely demanding, just manage to breathe awhile. Still holding on, almost breaking at times, fallen sick already, but with your support, I'm still standing. Almost half way through the first week, just another week and everything should settle down. Everything has been great. Yippie!!!
